My Exhibitions in San Francisco 2000/ 2001

The Band at the first opening, 24th June 2000, 848 Divisadero. Left to right; Gio on drums, Corey on keyboards, unknown (to me) lady, Frank and Linda on vocals. Note the sousaphone on the right and the deathless art on the wall.

It was ironic that my first ever show in San Francisco should be in a community arts space that was soon to fall victim to the rent rises and evictions that have plagued the city's art community.

Although my show was not affected this was a baptism of fire into local politics as I was most grateful for the hospitality of the residents of 848.

LEFT: Mikee's poster for my exhibition opening at 848 Divisadero St. The image "Hannah's Trim" seems to have been a bit of a favorite with the Luver crowd (click to enlarge).

ABOVE: Frank again, BELOW: the artist doing his famous impression of Jack Nicholson. Apparently there was dancing.... I don't remember....

ABOVE: First eager beavers to arrive while we were still setting up. You get to see the rest of the deathless art except for the end wall

Passion Flower

The second of the two gigs organised by for me by Alexi and Corey was at this cute little erotica store in Oakland called Passion Flower. Apart from it's proximity to a very nice Cuban restaurant the shop was run by a very sweet couple but I mostly dealt with Wally as the lady of the house was preoccupied with their newborn triplets.

Me and Wally at the magazine rack with bits of my favorite ladies above us.

And then... the 2001 "My Beautiful Sister" tour
