I had a pale coloured length of transparent fabric but Erika thought it was too stiff. We visited a fabric shop and she held up this black cloth and invited me to notice how nicely it hung. I was impressed.

My contribution to this shot was the mixture of front and side light with the lines on the backdrop. My eternal experiments with lighting get me into more technical trouble and waste more film than anyone else would believe, but this time it worked. The enigmatic pose came from Erika.
