Pineapple
20 X 24 inch silver gelatin print.
Crabtree, January 1998
This was very much Erika's
idea following up from another idea of hers that I liked - but she didn't
like the way it came out so you don't get to see it. I told her this
one gave new meaning to the expression "to get the rough end of the
pineapple" and she gave me a blank stare. It's an Australian expression
meaning to get a raw deal.
It is a wonderfully tactile
image. It is also (if I dare speak for Erika) something of a rejoiner
to the open beaver theme so beloved of internet porn freaks. Years ago
one of my models posed with a rusty rabbit trap in front of her private
parts and there was no mistaking the implied threat. "wouldn't it be
nice" she thought, "to walk the streets in smug confidence."
