This is the ultimate version of the man-in-the-window theme. Chelsea had already come up with the best pose for the window seat and the mysterious male (patriarchal?) figure has evolved into the Magritte man. I intended the associations to be fairly free as the Surrealists would but some women "viewers" have seen a reference to domestic violence - which I accept as a legitimate interpretation.
