Jackie ~
Portrait
20 X 24 inch silver gelatin print.
Crabtree 1998
I only got one shoot with
Jackie before she left the states for a new career. I know from experience
that the first shoot is usually purely explorative - photographer and
model get to know each other and it is after we see and discuss the
first proofs that the real business starts.
The first time I saw Jackie
(in a bar - I asked a mutual friend to introduce us) I knew she would
be an extraordinary model so I popped the question. For once in my life
I was right, so I show the resulting images as a little tribute to this
remarkable lady and her compelling personality... and to what subsequent
shoots might have produced. In the case of this portrait I defy you
to avoid those eyes.
