This is Claire and Ella at nine and that's their mum, Denise, in the background. The masterplan was to use some of the compositional strategies of that strange 16th century painting of two ladies in the bath (one pinching the other's nipple) and generally have a bit of fun with with it as well. What gives the image its edge is the eerie beauty of the two little girls.
